The pandemic hotspot forecaster is a deep-learning model developed by MITF to forecast areas of higher risk of exposure to COVID-19 infection (aka “hotspots”) by physical location and time.
Forecasts of population movements classified by demographic are created by combining information provided by infected individuals with data from a representative sample of people in the community.
HSF refines the forecasting methodologies under a continuous improvement process. The information is available so that policymakers and stakeholders have the tools they need to make informed decisions in balancing reopening community activity with protective COVID-19 measures.
